Hunebedden.

Today I received a post card from my brother Gerrit., and my memories went back many years. He send me a post card of the Hunebedden. This was taken in Borger, Drente the Netherland. Also there are hunebeds in Rolde, Drente. The story goes that the Huns traveled years ago the Noorder part of Europe. They think they are grave markers .As a young girl I remember that we went there with our school class for the day and we love to climb on them. Then had our lunch there also. How exiting it was in those days.

My little tree.

A little tree, three feet high was replanted in my backyard many years ago.It looked proud and strait up in the sky.It grew bigger and bigger. I could not touch the top any more. Then it strarted to produce chestnuts, year after year. I roasted them, but did not like them. Then one year I polished them and put them on a plate. This year I could not believe it. A bowl full of chestnuts came from that little tree. Now I proudly have them in a bowl on the table.

Back to school days parade

This morning we went to the school parade in our town.A nice fall day and lots of fun. Also my little great grand daughter was in the parade. The bands where playing and that brought back the years of my children in music and then the grandchildren playing in the band.It blows my mind to go back to all those wonderful years. Then Evie and I went with the little ones to a pumkin patch. That also was a lot of fun.

Beginning of Fall.

Today September 20, the beginning of the Fall season.I remember so many beautiful Fall days, but the best where in Pratsburg N.Y. where we had some land. I see my children enjoying it. Then my grand children. Many precious days. Picking apples, cutting trees. Cutting wood for the stove to burn. Also the beautiful fall day when one of my daughters got married there.Today I worked in the yard, thinking of all those days. With every weed I pulled something went trough my mind. The weather does that. You cut old plants and wonder what it will bring or if I will see it again. I also planted some crocuses, hope that they will greet me next spring. Happy Fall every one.

My Dream world.

I think often I would like to sit and image my dreamworld. I found it today. Look in this picture and you let your mind go. It could guide you to the most precious moment of your life. To dream of where it will end. I know it is going up the hill, but it could in your mind going any place.

A beautiful garden.

We spend most of the day by Louise and enjoyed her flowers. It is a park, a joy to see. We had our monthly get together, and like always great to be together.

Exercise

I was asked by my new Dr. if I do exercise. Well what do you expect from a almost 84 year old?I do all my own house work, all my yard work and I go twice a week to silver sneakers. I have a bad back and also no feeling in my feet. I think I do o.k.. Some days are hard but I get trough it.I do what I can. If I have a problem, and I mention to my grand children, they are ready to help. My children have their own health problem, but also they are there in emergency. So life is not so bad.I remember my grandmother at my age. She was old. I do not think that I am old.I wish now that I knew more about her.She was sweet and a great grand mother, but I did not know what her problems where. From my mother side of the family there was arthritis. My Mom had raynauds. You suffer then, now they have a name.I put this in the blog for the future, so if symptoms show up maby they do not have to suffer. I keep on going until....... Here is a picture of some of the girls in my class.
