A visitor

There on the main road I saw a horse walking and wonder what that was all about. Then it came down my driveway and it was David with Woody. They where out for a walk/

The gift of Love

The gift of love is what I call grand children. I have known this a long time, but it was showed again yesterday. My grand daughter Kim was with me the whole day and I have not a day like that in a long time. We worked , we laughed and we talked. It feels so good to have some one close and you can talk about everything and we learn from one and other.I know Kim had a good time, but she will look back in later days and say my grandmother told me this or that. I do not expect a lot more out my live, but this week has been a great one. I made more friends and have more respect for what other people know and are willing to teach me. I am never to old for learning more and giving back what knowledge I have.

Nice people.

Trough a friend I met a nice person. My clocks where not working and my friend said I have a relation who likes to work on clocks. My husband loved clocks and knew how to treat them, but none other one in my family knows. So I called him and he came over and picked up the clock. My Grandmother clock also had a problem. It would not chime. So today Bob 'what is the clock makers name' brought back the clock and fixed the chimes on my other clock. He also put a new molly for the hanging clock. So now I have two clock who are happy again and so is the owner. It is so nice to hear the chimes again. There is one problem. Bob did not want any money. I try ed and try ed , said he has to pay for the gas, but I could not do it. So you see there are people who care about senior or they are just nice people.

The ride to the south was just beautiful with colors. Then we made a visit to Dave and Anna's place. It start to look like a house.I am in wonder of my grandchildren what they all can do.And always a smile or a hug for there Grandma. In went with Evie in the evening to her Orchestra concert. That was great. The Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra played in a Canandaiqua Church. The Mozart's Overture to the Magic Flute, and Symphony#4 in A by F. Mendelssohn. They also had a wonderful Tenor Mark Gizzi-Schmidt. So a wonderful ending on a great day

Clocks

What will happening if we did not have clocks. I could not live without it, unless I lived in the country by myself. I would look at the sun or live by day and nightlight. But I do not live by my self and have to make dates. So I depend on clocks. But one clock is not working, and one runs to fast.I had a husband who loved clocks and knew how to fix them.So finally one of my friends has a relative who also loves clocks. He came over and took my wall clock with him to fix it. It is just like I got the best present. I want the clocks to run, it reminds me of my husband and better times. We need and like to remember the good days. A sound of a clock will do it for me.But the ticking sound I can not hear any more, so I look forward tom the chimes again.

Bad dreams of bad days.

Last night I was watching Anderson Cooper CNN at 10.00 P.M. I could not believe what I heard. A man running for Congress in Ohio was intervieuwed He was asked why on weekend he is wearing a German WWII uniform. He did not say why, but on the internet they put on adds for people to join them. When he was asked about the time in WWII who joined them then , he said people from all countries where helping even from the Netherlands. This made me so mad, yes there where some collaberators from the Netherlands in the war, but they got punished after the war. They where the lowest of the lowest. We had no respect for them. But why do we have people like that running for our government. I do not want to remember those times,I do not want to see those uniforms again. Can we not do any better? The Teaparty is behind him. I do not understand . I did not sleep much last night. I try to reason every thing. Do I want to vote for people like that. No way. I do not want to remember all the things that I felt and saw.

Kim's Birthday.

What a day to have a birthday. The sun is shining, birds are singing and the day has a calm feeling. I walked my land and took a few pictures to remember what a nice birthday you have, Happy Birthday Kim.

The Sermon.

Several weeks ago I went to a Memorial service for a friend about a hour drive from my home.It was a lovely memorial, and it was nice to meet his family. Afterwards they served us a lunch. I happen to sit with the Minister and we had great discussions. We talked religion and problems our Country has. He asked me where I was from, and I said the Netherlands. He was so nice to talk to. He told me he had met Dutch people, but never some one that was in W W II.We kept on talking and when I looked around we and my friend where the only ones left. When we left he said to me we have do some more talking in the future. He had enjoyed it.I went to a other funeral with my friend today. She told me that I was the talk of that little town we went to several weeks ago. The minister used my conversation with him in the next Sunday service. So when you talk you never know who is listening.
