War,war and war over again.

I have days that I am on pins and needles sitting watching the news. And I have done that a lot there I have not been feeling well and the only thing I did was sitting and watching. Then I start living with the people that are in the middle of a war. You have to been there to understand. No future and hell around you. Why, why and why is the world so sad. What can we do to make them understand what they are doing. A human live is just nothing. I am waiting for a new Great grand child to be born. What is her future?I know we can not do much about it,but here am I looking forward to a new birth. But all those people around the world have the same feelings. That is why they are fighting for, just a place with there family and be able to feed them. That is what it is all about.Love and family. But we have to work on both. It does not happens on less we work on it. But when you are in war you forget all about that . There is noting you can do and it makes you so, so sad.It is so horrible that it stays with you for ever.

What a good day.

For me a good day is when I am able to do things. Well yesterday was a day like that. I been working in the yard and little by little I get things done. It is surprising do I cleaned up the yard last fall but still there is a lot to do. But like I said I did it and I am proud of it.Then I had invited Kim for dinner. I set the table with my best dishes and planned a full course dinner with a candle for St Patricks day.We just started eating when a call came in from David if we want to meet them at there home at 6 p.m and then go together to the American Hotel. Well Kim and I never say no. So we ate in the hurry and left the dishes for later.Well I met Gus and we made friends. Then we all walked over to the Hotel and celebrated St Patricks with a LOT of people. It was a long but fun day.I will put a few pictures from me visiting my neighbors and the place where last year a fur tree stood that went to Nan and Joe for there Christmas tree.

Garth Brooks.

On Oprah I saw Garth Brooks singing today. And with him singing it came to me that it has been 27 years when my Dad past away.I still can hear him say 'I can not go on any more'. And I told him,go Dad with peace, we will take care of Mom. Istill feel that moment.Words are sometimes easy. How would I take care of my Mother. Im in the US and she in the Netherlands. But she was smart, she knew what I mend. To see a husband and wife at there end of there live together is very hard. You do not understand this to the fullest until you are there later. It was even harder for me because in a couple of weeks I had to go home again and leave her alone. But this is live cycle.

Unbroken.

Unbroken, that is the book I am reading now. A WWII story of survival, Resilience, and Redemption. When I got the book from Kim I did not want to say anything, but I had no interest in it. The writer is Laura Hillebrand. That sounds like a Dutch name. I knew some Hillebrands in the Netherlands. So the book has been laying there. All I could think a other one writing about WWII. It turned me of. But one day beeing bored I picked the book up and start to read. It was about a Italian-American sprinter. His name was Louie Zamperini. And the more I read the more I got in to it.He was born in 1917, and as a 12 old he saw the German Graf Zeppelin flying over his house. So that was history , and information for me. Louie got in to a lot af trouble, but his two year older brother helped him to become a sprinter. And in 1936 he went to the Germany with his American Olympic team. He also met Hitler. He then later when America was at war went in the service and became a luitenant and served in the Pacific war. So now I am deep in the story and I am getting a lot of information about the war in the other Ocean. So that shows you do not judge a story from the cover.
