Military Tattoo.
We saw the yearly Military Tattoo in Hamilton Canada yesterday. Some people ask me What is a Tattoo. Here it is. Imagine yourself sitting in a tavern in the 17 th Century Holland. In those days, when British troops served in the lowlands, it was the custom for a drummer to march trough the streets, beating his drum to warn the troops that it was time tp leave the taverns and return to their billets. The Dutch innkeepers, at the sound of the drum, would order "doe de tap toe" or turn off the taps. In English "taptoe" became tattoo and over the years, the drummer was accompanied by fife or bugle player and perhaps piper.Hence the beginnings of a regimental band and soon they performing concerts for local population. What began as daily routine in army life is today the military tattoo, where you will thrill to performance featuring a lively rhythm of marching bands, precise dancers and stirring sounds of pipes and drums. It is one of the best shows I like. This year was Commemoration of the War of 1812.

Concert.
I went to a concert at the College last night. It was great. The Dady Brothers played. What I most enjoyed was they played the same instruments as my husband did. Also the same kind of music. They where funny and good. To bad not more people go to the concerts. They are free and they serve you hots and drinks, plus they have nice door prizes. The weather was great sitting, over looking 15 A.A nice end to a hot day.

East Aurora.
We went with a bus trip to East Aurora, N,Y.today. It was a shopping trip to Vidler's 5 and 10 cent store. WEll I did not see anything in that price, but they had a lot. Area after area, I wonder if they ever sell every thing. But it was a lot of fun. Also we went to a oil shop. Craft places and lunch. A good day, I wish my back could handle more. Well I am 85 , what do I want.We also went to a All America Shop. That was great. The owner came on the bus and told us how he started. A young man with four children and he made it go. Every thing was made in America and nice stuff. I makes you feel good that people still care about this Country.
